Today has been busy, but so satisfying.
Reece let us sleep through most of the night. She woke us up before 6, wanting to snuggle, and we were up for awhile after that (Lance was up for good, actually). Eventually, she let me go back to sleep and I had a nice lie-in until almost 9:00.
Ohio State won. Michigan lost (to Toledo...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA).
We went to the commissary. Got our grocery shopping done. Stocked up on a lot of basics for the pantry, since they were having a good sale on bulk items, a lot of which we buy regularly.
I did a little bit of cleaning. Baked a huge batch of meatballs. I had some meatloaf seasoning that I bought at the farmer's market a couple weeks ago. I used 2 pounds of ground beef, bread crumbs (and I ran out before I got 1 cup, so I crushed up some Ritz crackers), milk, egg and the seasoning. Used my cookie scoop to get even sized meatballs. They smelled awesome. I tasted one and it was really good. I froze half the batch. The rest we'll eat throughout the week.
We went to Rich and Kathy's for dinner...we just got back a short while ago. Kathy made baked ziti with Italian sausage. We had garlic bread and salad. Lance and I provided a cheesecake assortment. And they had sweet potato pie.
Reece had a good time playing with their son and their dog.
We hung out, watched TV (Graham Norton) and talked a lot. Kathy and I have so much in common, it's almost scary.
We now have Thanksgiving and Christmas plans with them. And they are taking Reece next Saturday so that Lance and I can be alone on our anniversary.
It's been a good day. Tomorrow is going to be about getting caught up on household chores. And I have the pink party at my hair salon tomorrow evening to benefit breast cancer research.
