Out & About in Seattle
So, Lance and I went downtown today.
Lisa invited us to park at her apartment in Capitol Hill and take the bus, so we arrived at her place shortly after 9. She had a few errands to run, and Volunteer Park was a short walk, so we went over there to explore a bit until she was done, and then she met us at the Conservatory (greenhouse).
From the park, we took the bus to Pike Place Market. We got brunch at Crepe de France, and while we were waiting for our food, I ran into Sondra, a former co-worker from Paychex. We were very excited to see each other and she stayed and chatted for a few minutes and then had to be on her way.
Lance and I both ordered ham & emmentaler crepes. We got a bit more than I wanted to eat, though, since I wanted to sample some other stuff around the market. The only other stop we made to eat was to Beecher's cheese for their famous macaroni and cheese, which was really really good.
After a couple of hours or so of wandering around, we went to Westlake Center and grabbed the monorail to the Space Needle. Lisa came out there with us, but only to re-check the bus info so we could get back. So she left us and went back to her place. We picked up my annual pass that I ordered 3 months ago and went to the top of the Needle, stopping at the Sky Cafe for our complimentary beverages. I got a Chardonnay, which sadly, wasn't very good.
And that was pretty much our day. We got the bus back to Lisa's place. She came out to get the parking pass that we borrowed, and we continued chatting for a bit, and then Lance and I came back home. We took a nap for about an hour and a half, and then picked up Reece. And now we're pretty much done for the day. It was a great day, but we're both pretty wiped out.
