It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
First thing's first - we got rid of the Crap Mobile today! We picked up our rental car for the next week (a Fiat Panda - which is actually an automatic, so I could drive it if I wanted) and then went to the junkyard to drop off my car. They filled out a certificate of destruction, which was only a bit painful because the car still has life left in it and I feel bad that we had to do this. But we had no other options. Really, we didn't.
I'm just glad it's out of our hands now.
Otherwise, the day has been a bit slow. We had a lazy afternoon in our hotel room and then ventured out a couple of hours ago to poke around the GK Christmas market, but it was rather disappointing. We each got crepes for dinner, but they weren't very good. And I wanted to get a hot chocolate, but the cafe where I wanted to get it was closing down as we got there.
I hate that everything closes so early here...on a Saturday, no less.
So now we're holed up in our room again, not really doing anything...although we discovered that the DVD player is compatible with American DVDs, so that gives us the option of renting some movies. We already watched some M*A*S*H earlier.
