We didn't get everything done today that we had hoped. We wanted to at least get the room prepped for painting, but that didn't happen.
I'm not going to feel bad about it. Lance has a 3 day weekend and I wouldn't want him to spend it toiling away at the ceiling. We'll do a coat tomorrow and one on Monday.
We did, however, do a lot today. Most of this afternoon was spent out. Lance wanted to go to Fry's Electronics...a place that far surpasses Best Buy in awesomeness, apparently. So I made a deal with him. I told him if we took some stuff to Goodwill first, we could go to Fry's. So we took the old dining set there...I've been dying to get rid of it for years and we would've had to clear it out of the kitchen anyway. The new dining set is waiting to replace it once the ceiling is done.
We have more stuff to go to Goodwill, but the table pretty much took up all the space in the bed of his truck.
After that, he wanted to wash the truck. But we waited for ages and then Lance was worried that the truck was too big to fit in the wash, so he pulled out of the line. He'll try again tomorrow. He wants to measure the truck first and make sure it's not longer than 22 feet, but I kept insisting he was okay.
Then we drove to Fry's. Surprisingly, we walked out empty-handed. Lowe's was across the way, so we walked around there to compare prices with Home Depot. I picked up an outdoor furniture catalog and they have a better lighting selection, so now I know where I want to go when we get new light fixtures for the bathroom. I bought a welcome mat there because I finally saw one that I liked.
It was past dinnertime when we left, and we still had to go to Home Depot for ceiling paint. So we stopped there first...picked up all those supplies (Lance got a long handle for the paint roller that will allow him to paint from the floor instead of having to use a ladder...so that's awesome).
Herfy's Burgers was across the way in a strip mall, so we stopped there for dinner. It was our first time eating there. Oh my God. Huge, awesome, sloppy burgers. I had a bacon cheeseburger and Lance had a double cheese. I can't believe I ate all mine and almost all my fries. I'll probably be sorry later, but it was seriously SO. FREAKING. GOOD.
I realized as we were leaving that we forgot stir sticks, so I ran back into HD and grabbed the last super long one they had. After all, we have a 5 gallon bucket of ceiling paint.
Back home...put everything away and grabbed the mail. Paula's V-Day gift to me arrived - a truffle lollipop, a cute pink hand towel with 2 kissing birds on it, and a pink and white stuffed dog. I wanted to get some prepwork done for painting tomorrow, but Lance wants to just wait until morning, and I'm still quite stuffed from dinner.
Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60's. We plan to go out for a walk before we get down to the business of painting. Lance wants to visit the earthworks park to see what that's like.
