I started taking power walks on my lunch breaks this week. I can do two laps in half an hour - the block around my office building. It's a heavy-traffic area, but there are a lot of trees and beautiful landscaping, so it's not too bad.
And the weather has been absolutely perfect. I've been told that Seattle summers are the nation's best-kept secret, and now I know why. It took long enough to get here, but everyday is gentle and warm and sunny.
I have some fun plans for Lance's birthday this weekend. We kind of kick things off tomorrow, depending upon whether or not he gets his promotion. Tomorrow is either promotion day or "Passover" (getting passed over for promotion). Lance suspects it will be the latter, but we shall see. If he gets it, we're having dinner at Pizzeria Fondi tomorrow night.
Saturday night, I want to take Lance to the drive-in movie theater that is very close to our house. We can take Munchy too.
Sunday, I'm taking Lance out to breakfast. Then we'll go out to Dash Point so we can play with Munchy on the beach...maybe pack a picnic. He wants homemade macaroni and cheese for dinner, and I'm getting him a DQ ice cream cake.
Because I wasn't sure what to make for dinner tonight, I grabbed a box of Homestyle Bakes out of the pantry - Creamy Stroganoff. Lance loved it. I thought it was pretty good too. So I guess that means we'll be putting that into our regular dinner rotation. Last night I made pulled chicken sandwiches, and I thought those were really good. It's been a good week for meals. Depending on how tomorrow works out, either tomorrow night or Friday night will be leftovers night, and we actually have really delicious leftovers this week, so that's fine by me.
