OMG
Between the 5 tastings we had at Columbia Winery and the little more than one glass I had when we split a bottle of Gewurztraminer on the patio outside, I got horribly drunk.
The drunkest I have ever been, and I've had way more to drink than that before.
I think it's because we were drinking on empty stomachs (lunch came later) and early in the day...and we were already very relaxed.
But ooooh...that wine was delicious!
Lunch at Red Hook was great. We didn't do the brewery tour, but Lance and Rob got a 6 pack to take home. Lunch sobered me up. Mom and I had the turkey sandwiches on croissants with chips and grapes. Lance and Rob had bacon cheeseburgers.
Today was fun. I thought we would visit more wineries, but I guess it's good that we didn't.
Columbia Winery is absolutely gorgeous, by the way. It's in this huge, beautiful building. Chateau Ste. Michelle is right across the street...the grounds are beautiful there, but I didn't get a look at the building. I liked our wine educator that gave us our tastings...he was awesome. And the manager also let us get a special taste of the Rose, which wasn't on the tasting menu. Everyone there was fantastic. And even the reds (and I'm not much of a red wine drinker) were highly drinkable.
