*sigh*
They're gone. And I'm sad. My parents had a wonderful time here, and I had a wonderful time with them. It was all too short.
We dropped them off at the airport around 8:30. At 9:15, the phone rang. It was my mom saying, "We miss you."
Today was quiet. We went to IHOP for breakfast. Rob and Lance hung out and watched football. Mom and I went shopping.
We just browsed around Chair & Trellis. We went to Kent Station and I showed her Waxen Art, where I make candles. We stopped at Bella Home & Garden. We spent a bit of time there and talked to the woman working there (she might have been the owner). I bought a begonia from her, which was on sale for $4.95. She told me to keep it inside at night and re-pot it and plant it in the spring.
Stopped at Top to buy a huge pot of mums for the backyard. Then we went to Home Depot to get a new pot for my begonia, some potting soil, bird feeders and seeds. Then Mom and I came back home and sat outside.
Mom and Rob really helped us figure out what to do with our yard. We have some good ideas now. I have a good sense of what will grow well. I'm basically pulling up everything growing in my plot here along the back of the house (except for my roses and irises) and starting over from scratch. At the farmers market yesterday, I bought a couple of small stepping stones to add to the garden - they were 2 for $10. I have a long way to go, but they certainly helped Lance and I make things better while they were here.
Anyway, it's so so hard for me to be so far away from Ohio still. I don't know when I'll be able to go back. I don't know when they can come back here. I just know that they didn't want to leave. I wish they could've stayed much longer.
