Damn
Lance will be at Tinker (or what he refers to as Stinker), all next week. He leaves Sunday...comes back the following Saturday.
And I suppose, because he'll be gone, that's when we'll get the call that our windows are ready for installation. It's been 9 weeks since we ordered them. The guarantee for the windows was no more than 10 weeks.
So if we get the phone call, I guess we'll have to hold off until Lance gets back. He needs to get a couple days of leave so he can be here for the installation.
And also, his departure means that we won't be having Rich and Kathy over for dinner this weekend as I'd hoped. So I will hold off on making the pastitsio.
All I know is, I'm damn tired of being cold. I'm sick of feeling the drafts in this house. I want these damn windows.

The gubernatorial race here in Washington was rather anti-climactic. Four years ago, it was a knock-down, drag-out fight between the two opponents. From what I understand, the election was too close to call for about 6 weeks. And now we have the same two candidates. But a much more definitive win. I'm pleased at the outcome, though, so I'm definitely not complaining! But I was fully prepared to not know the outcome of this race for several more weeks.
The other major race I'm keeping my eye on is still too close to call. Lance and I voted opposite on that one, so our votes canceled each other's out anyway.
