Literary Therapy

$4.95 each in the Bargain Books section at Barnes & Noble:

Farewell, My Queen - Chantal Thomas

The Second Mrs. Darcy - Elizabeth Aston

The Exploits & Adventures of Miss Alethea Darcy - Elizabeth Aston

Of course, I already have a ton of unread books on my shelf. But I had to add more. How can I resist, at that price?

Besides, when I'm upset, books cheer me up.

I love books. I've got the books...I even have the library ladder. I just need the proper space to store them. I've got two full bookshelves, a major shelf in the closet, the built-in in the living room, and about 3 more tubs full. I love hitting the "Friends of the Library" room at the local library. Hardbacks are $1 and paperbacks are 50 cents.

I go with at least a $20 budget.

I'm sad that I never find good stuff at library sales. The exception to this is the Bellevue Library, where they have a used bookstore. Those books are either donated or come from the library system, and their selection is really good.

Someday, I want a library so extensive that it takes over the entire house. My aunt, when she lived in Columbus, had a library like that. Practically every room was wall to wall bookshelves. I loved it so much (although I imagine it was a bitch to dust). I think she still has a lot of books, although most of them are now stored in her basement.

Simply buying books can cheer me up!
