Before and after - the patio

Before:

I don't really have any close-ups, but you get the idea. The tile was cracked and chipped, and with each rain and/or windstorm, we would find new pieces chipped off.

Here's a different perspective. You only see a small part of it, but it gives you an idea of how bad it was:

And this is what we came home to yesterday:

The larger tiles are such an improvement. I like the little design they have going.

I was under the impression that the entire patio would be checkerboard designed, but I like it this way better, to be honest. And I suppose there was a price difference in the tiles, so they wanted the larger quantity to be the cheaper ones.

It's actually nice enough that I want to sit outside more. Too bad we have crappy patio furniture. I would love to put an outdoor rug out there and a nice patio set with an umbrella. I bought all resin furniture when we first moved to Germany because we had tons of pigeons at the old house that crapped on everything. We still have that here, though.

I like it much better. It will be fun for you to decorate it now!

Don't tempt me! We really don't use our patio too often, but I would really like to use it more now. I wish I could find a nice porch swing here or something. We're going to cook out tomorrow, so maybe we can actually eat al fresco tomorrow night.

I have to admit that I was quite pleased and impressed.

Oooo! Pretty! It is all so much better than that last house you had.

I do miss the balcony at our old house though. It was one of my favorite reading nooks in the summer. We have a balcony here, but it's at the front of the house, so it faces the noisy street. I've never sat out on it. I merely use it to clean the doors that lead out to it.
