One hour and one head injury later...

The little area at the top of the stairs went from this:

And instead of moving that skinny little bookshelf to the office as I planned, we moved it into the hallway between our bedroom and the bathroom:

So now I have my own little reading nook that's about 5 steps from the bed. And now I don't have to read in bed.

And as for the head injury, that thing propped up on top of the bookshelf in the 3rd picture (our framed wedding invitation) fell off and brained me pretty bad. It hurt like hell. And I'm getting a nasty bump there now.

Thanks! The best ideas come to me when I can't sleep!

The curse of being a writer. :P

That little IKEA chair is pretty comfy, although I'm dying to paint the frame and dye the cushion covers.

Thanks! It's going to take some used to having a chair there though. I'm used to either reading downstairs or in bed, but I'm sure I'll get adjusted to this very quickly.
