Another shot at the national championship

Woke up this morning to the news that Ohio State made it into the national championships. Certain things had to happen in order for this to happen - things that seemed impossible - but they happened, and now we're going.

Another shot at the national title.

PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT BLOW IT THIS YEAR, BUCKEYES!

And in other news, Lance and I are probably going to see Beowulf today. Not much on our agenda, really. I slept hard and deep last night and feel quite refreshed today, and I don't want to spend the entire day hanging out in our room.

And I woke up just as devastated as I was when I went to bed. $350 on tickets to the game, 90 minutes to drive to Motown, 3 hours in the car waiting for the gates to open, 2 pairs of pants, 3 shirts, winter coat, toboggan, ear muffs, 80 gram thinsulate gloves, and chemical hand warmers, 4 hours in the stands at 30 degrees with freezing rain pelting me... And my Mounties blew it. No WVU-OSU showdown for me.

I'll root for OSU just for you.

Yeah, I heard about West Virginia, and I thought about you and how upset you would be. A WVU-OSU showdown would've been fun.

I didn't want the Buckeyes to make the championships this way, though...I would prefer that they earned their own way, rather than rely on the teams above them to tumble.

With the way the NCAA season went this year, no one earned their bowl berth... And those who SHOULD be playing in better bowls (like Hawaii) got screwed and ended up in one of the "Special Olympics" bowls. The BCS system is ridiculous. We need to just go to a playoff system and be done with it. WVU is a good team (most of the time), but we're cast aside because of our stinkin' schedule strength. It just needs revamped in a big way.

OSU should enjoy the Championship and hopefully they'll get their redemption this year. WVU ended up in the Fiesta Bowl with Oklahoma. Here's hoping...

Well, our schedule strength is notoriously weak, but we still manage to be one of the top teams. I'm not saying that's fair, and I can't explain why that is, but I really wish we'd play more difficult teams.

Oklahoma's a tough team. Good luck to the Mounties!
