I love Seattle area libraries!

It's hilarious how excited I get about the little things.

I just applied for a library card...online. It will be shipped to me within 2 weeks. I even got to choose what color I wanted for my card (purple, if you must know), and whether I wanted a wallet size or a keychain size.

How very cool.

Of course, I have to verify my identity at the library once the card arrives, along with proof of my address (which will be more difficult, considering we haven't gotten any bills yet at our house).

ETA: Unrelated to my post, but I texted myself from Live Journal, and it's been awhile and I haven't received the text. I suppose it's possible that I won't get it, because I don't have myself listed as a friend, and my text message option is only available to those on my FL.

You'd think that the fact that your card was shipped to your address -- and you have received it -- would be proof enough that you live at your address?

That thought had occurred to me as well...*shrug*. Guess I need to find out what specific proof they are looking for.

The library in downtown Seattle is the COOLEST building ever too! I went to their grand opening - it was insane.

I will definitely have to make my way down there at some point. I haven't even been to Seattle yet! Once we get things set up, we'll hop on the rail and spend the day.

very cool that you could apply for your library card online. My library will never do that...hell, we just got voice mail!
