Dear Moving Company

Lance and I had the understanding that you were a full-service moving company which was supposed to cater to the needs of the military community. As such, you not only delivered our household goods, but you are also supposed to pick up the boxes and packing paper when we're done.

Well, we are none too pleased with you deeming Kent as being too remote to bother with coming out to pick up all the boxes. You advised us to get rid of them ourselves.

We can...there is craigslist after all, and there are always people who need boxes. But that is so not the point.

The point is that we shouldn't have to do this. This is a service YOU are supposed to provide, and American tax dollars pay for it.

No love,
The Johnsons

They're supposed to come get the boxes? We PCS'd twice, and never received that service.

You're supposed to. Is it possible that the movers just neglected to tell you? Our movers told us, because we didn't know about it until this move. But [livejournal.com profile] katzies is supposed to have this service too, and they just PCS'd back to Germany.

We didn't really need it when we PCS'd to Germany because we were newly married and had nothing (600 lbs I think). However, we could have REALLY used that service when our goods finally arrived at Fairchild.

So they bring them there but then suddenly it's too far to pick them up? I'd let the Transportation business know!

Lance already contacted them. Nobody was there when he called, but he left a message. We'll see what happens.

I guess household goods are one thing, but empty boxes are far less important to make the 30 mile drive.

Holy crap, are you serious? LOL. I had no idea they were suppose to pick up the boxes! I've moved almost every 2-4 years of my life with the military growing up and now, and not once do I ever remember that happening. Nobody ever told us that. I'll have to remember that with our upcoming move.

Doesn't hurt to ask. They made a big deal out of it at the time they moved in our stuff, so they made it seem like it was a standard service.
