We had a rather slow and boring Sunday, spending a good chunk of the afternoon stripping wallpaper. We're more than half done, and can hopefully knock the rest out tomorrow. Just need to buy more DIF.
But the interesting part of the day was that Lance finally got to meet his great uncle Kenny. His grandpa's brother...who lives in nearby Maple Valley. He's almost 92 years old and a WWII vet.
He came over without calling first, and it was right after we finished eating lunch and just before we started wallpaper stripping. He stayed for about an hour and shared some war stories with Lance. I didn't talk much to him, although he occasionally asked me some questions and made chitchat with me.
He wants to take us out to lunch sometime soon. He would've done that today, but we had just finished eating, so we had to take a raincheck.
Anyway, I am delighted for Lance that he has family here and I hope he can get to know his Uncle Kenny better.

I was amused because he dropped a book off that he wanted Lance to read. Lance doesn't really read...books about investing, real estate or computers, and that's basically it. He doesn't read for pleasure. So I'll have to see if he'll read it because I suppose Kenny will want to discuss with him.
