All Is Not Lost, It Seems

Just as I was messaging my friend Sam to tell him that my self-esteem these days has been intimately connected to my employability, a new email notification came in.

It was a request for a job interview next week.

Perhaps this day isn't completely shot to hell after all.

ETA: Tuesday at 1 pm.

Good things:
- short commute
- lots of opportunities for advancement in the company
- benefits looks pretty good (tuition reimbursement...hooray!)
- named one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For" by Fortune Magazine (but then again, it seems like most companies make this claim...or at least the ones I've been applying to)

What kind of position is it?

I would rather not discuss that right now, but let's just say it's a job that is very very far beneath my education and experience.

Is it Home Depot? I have heard good things about the company.

No...it's a payroll processing firm, but I would be at the bottom of the totem pole. I am just not giving many details because I don't want to jinx things, but if things go well, I'll reveal more about it after the interview.

The people at Home Depot really seem to like working there, so I wouldn't mind a call from them.
