Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

I am so proud of Lance. Three months after we left GK, he is still making an impact!

I got this email from Andrea today:

I just attended the Annual Aircrew Awards on base today, and Lance won an award! He got the System Technician of the Year award!! (At least I think that is what it was called - isn't system technician his job on the jet?) You probably already knew this, but I thought I'd tell you in case Lance forgot to mention it :-) That is a really major award - it means that he was the best ST on base (of the Americans). Awesome!!! Tell Lance Congrats for me and congratulations to you too - since I think half the award belongs to you!

I'm not even sure he knows about this. I just texted him.

YAY Lance! I'm so proud of you, honey!

Congrats, that's great! Maybe it'll give him another extra boost for that promotion.

I think it's too late now for that. I think anything like that would have to be handled before he took his promotion test. But I could be wrong.

He didn't know he was receiving the award. It was a nice surprise for him. I'm very proud of him. He does his job very well and he's one of the best at what he does.

Yay Lance!! It's always wonderful to be recognized for your work, even when you KNOW you're good at what you do. Will they be shipping him a plaque or something to hang on his wall?

I assume so. One of the guys from his old unit will probably take care of it.
