Blargh

I leave for Rochester at 7:30 AM on Sunday morning, and I'm getting sick.

I had it coming. I've avoided getting sick this entire time since we've lived here, with the exception of one Saturday about 5 weeks ago when I had a sore throat. And that went away in a day after a lot of rest, tea, chicken & dumpling soup, and Ricola lozenges.

I felt fine this morning. My supervisor took me out to lunch (Thai food, if you're curious...although, because I'm a wimp, I ordered something non-spicy). When we got back to work, I noticed my throat was really scratchy and I started sneezing like mad. And it's gotten progressively worse all afternoon.

Stopped by the store on the way home and bought Airborne gummis, because the tablets you dissolve in water are vile, disgusting things. The gummis are somewhat tolerable (although ask me again after I've had to suck on the licorice flavored ones).

The last thing I need is to develop a full blown illness while I'm in Rochester.

Anyway, as I left work today, there were hugs and cellphone numbers exchanged...lots of encouragement and well wishes. I feel good about the trip. It's the first day back that terrifies me.

Given that Airborne has that class-action suit going on now, I'm surprised that they're still even selling their product. Did you file for a claim, bychance?

Nope. And it didn't particularly work the first time I ever used it. And I don't expect it to work now. But I figured I had nothing to lose by trying it. I'm pretty desperate not to get sick.

I knew about the class-action suit, btw...but tons of people still swear by this stuff, and my co-workers have said repeatedly all day that I need to get some.

Ahh, gotcha. :) I'd tried it before, and it never worked for me, so I wasn't surprised to see the class action come up.

Feel better, Karyn. :)

Aaron swears by it too, it might be the placebo effect but whatever works, right?
Maybe you should have went with something spicy, that sometimes helps me when I'm about to get sick.

I hope you feel better by the time you leave tomorrow. Try to have some fun and take pictures!!
