Alone again...

I took Lance to the airport not even 8 hours ago...I'm once again alone, this time for 2+ weeks. He's not traveling for work this time. He has 2 weeks off to visit his family in Minnesota. He's participating in a friend's wedding ceremony a week from Saturday. He and his sister are going to the air show in Osh Kosh, Wisconsin.

I'm bone weary. Not sure how I'm going to make it through the day...dreading these next 2 weeks. All I can do is try to fill it with as much activity as possible. And good books.

And please, nobody ask why I'm not with him. When you start a job in April, you don't exactly get the prime vacation days in the summer. Those have been booked for quite some time.

So...it's Thursday, and I'm off to a long day at work. But I get off tomorrow at noon. So even though I hate the weeks that I flex, I really love them once Friday rolls around. I am just suffering from a sleep deficit, I had a horrible foot cramp yesterday that has left me with pain and numbness in my right foot, and I'm cranky.

Nothing new, really.

Have about 20 minutes now to get my breakfast/lunch packed, get Reece comforted and in the crate, and then get in the car and go.

I'm going to be alone next week when Josh goes out of town for business. And he is taking my laptop so I can't amuse myself with that either. I'm thinking of going out of town myself and visiting people just to get out of the house.

I've been invited to go boating this weekend, and I really want to go. It just depends on if I can find care for Reece. Our friends, who call themselves uncle and aunt to Reece, have offered numerous times to take care of her for us, so I'm trying to reach them now.

Sometimes I think our husbands don't really appreciate how 'normal' people get vacation - 2 weeks is A LOT of vacation time for most people.

I worked 5 years at a company and had a total of 3 weeks/yr paid vacation time at the end of it. I think I started with 7 or MAYBE 10 days...but that was it for the *enitre* year!

It's wonderful you're so understanding about him needing to spend time with his family - especially since he hasn't seen them in 2 years!! He'll be missing you & Reece SO MUCH by the time he gets back. :)
