Mt. Rainier Photos

Here are some pics my Mom emailed me from our Mt. Rainier trip a week ago yesterday.

OMG Reece got so BIG already! And I can't get over you wearing sweaters already!!! I cannot wait to wear long sleeves and jeans.

It was warm that day, but we were going up to 5400 feet above sea level, so it got chillier the higher up we went.

I think the high temps were in the low 70's, in the low 60's at Paradise, which is as far as we went.

Reece is a lot bigger than she was 4 months ago when we first brought her home, but comparatively small next to purebred Labs. We're almost positive she's part Border Collie, so that will keep her from getting too big. She weighs in the ballpark of 45 pounds now.

That's still bigger than Miles and he's overweight. I think after having smaller/medium sized dogs all other bigger breeds are HUGE to me.

Does she try to herd you guys around the house? I always hear that border collies do that. I hope you do that agility training - I've always thought that would be so much fun for human and dog.

She doesn't try to herd us around the house (she does that to her toys) so much as she likes to nose in when Lance and I are hugging/kissing. I had a horrible week at work and when I got home yesterday afternoon, Lance embraced me for a very long time. We were standing by the bed, and she jumped up on the bed and shoved her nose under my armpit and then she stood on the bed with her paws on my shoulders (my back was to her) and started nuzzling the back of my head. She likes to be a part of these things.

Yeah. And she wakes us up around 6:30 on weekends by jumping into bed and snuggling between us for some family cuddle time.

She really is a snuggle bug. She loves to kiss too. Sometimes it feels like she's trying to lick off my skin or something.

We feel so lucky to have found her. She really is amazing.

You really are - you probably knew the moment you saw her she was the one. I think some people have a good sense about the right dog for them. ♥

This might sound gross but Chloe LOVES to lick feet. It's like a massage every night! LOL. At first it used to tickle and weird me out but now I encourage it! haha!

Reece licks my feet too. And if she's playful, she'll nibble on my toes, but that usually hurts a little. So I don't really encourage it. ;)

Awww, you look like such a happy mom next to Reece! Great photos :)
