Sep. 27th, 2008 09:50 pmReece and I met up with Farlis and her dog for a long walk this afternoon.
Today could not have been more gorgeous. As we were making our way back toward our cars, we had an absolutely stunning view of Mt. Rainier. I had to take a picture.
Dog is tired...I'm tired. I wore my pedometer today...as a test run. The Live Well, Eat Well challenge that we're doing at work doesn't start until tomorrow.
I was well over 12,000 steps when I took it off. My goal is to have at least 10,000 steps a day. But I'm not exactly sure how I'll accomplish that goal because I don't have the time to take an almost 2 hour walk everyday.
Anyway, my plan of attack for the challenge:
- park all the way in the back of the parking lot so I have to walk further to the building
- take the stairs instead of the elevator (I do this anyway)
- walk for half an hour on my lunch break (I do this a few times a week anyway)
- take Reece for walks as much as possible
Still working on how I'm going to manage 5 cups of fruit/veg a day. I'm a carboholic, so it'll be difficult for me to eat more veggies, particularly since the vast majority of them irritate my stomach. And I don't like the prepwork involved with most fruit, but I should suck it up and do it anyway.
