I'm being somewhat domestic today. Sure, I can hardly breathe from being so stuffed up and I have coughing fits that I think might make me pass out, but I can still do some light housework.

I have the 2nd load of linens in the washing machine now. First load is in the dryer.

I have chili cooking in the slow cooker. As I was putting it together this morning, I realized that my regular slow cooker wouldn't hold it all. Thankfully, I still had my giant slow cooker that I used in Germany (until I got a European one). I figured that would be a good size for when I entertain (it's 7 quarts, I think). So I am making a ginormous batch of chili. That's ok. I can always freeze some.

(Oh, and thank heavens for my food chopper, which pulverized my onions to where Lance won't be able to recognize them in the chili. It's not the flavor that he minds...it's the texture.)

I took a hot shower, hoping it would break up some of the congestion. I came out, and Reece had half my box of Kleenex in little bits all over the floor. So I had to clean that up. And since she tracked mud into the sitting room, I had to vacuum as well. I'm not done with that yet. I'll try to get Lance to finish that task up this evening.

I cleaned the kitchen after I made the chili.

And that's probably more than I should be doing right now, but honestly, from the neck down I feel totally fine. This nastiness is all in my sinuses. Unlike yesterday, when I was overwhelmed with fatigue and body aches.

I also got myself a new dentist. After that nightmare visit to Bright Now Dental (and yes, I was warned about how evil they are), I found a new dentist that has evening and weekend hours. That's really what I was looking for in the first place...that, and a dentist whom I feel is working in my best interests and isn't trying to rip me off (unlike Bright Now Dental). I called Bright Now Dental and canceled my cleaning appointment for the 14th and ordered copies of my x-rays. That'll set me back $25, but it's cheaper than what I would've had to pay out of pocket for services they insisted that I needed that I really don't think I need. It was the office manager who took my call, and when she asked why I was leaving them, I told her. She offered to let me see a different dentist there, but I don't want to. I waited too long to see a dentist in the first place. The exam "rooms" (if you can call them that) offered no privacy. The entire atmosphere there made me uncomfortable. And I have no doubt that any other dentist there will back up what the first dentist said to me about all the fillings that I supposedly need. I'm getting a second opinion somewhere else.

Anyway, it's chilly and damp outside. I'm stretched out on the couch with Reece curled up by my feet. She's being weirdly lazy and quiet right now. And she hasn't eaten a morsel of her food. I suppose she's bored, but I can't exactly entertain her right now.
