I'm feeling all domestic today. I just have this need to get things cleaned and organized.

I started going through old magazines and tearing out pages with recipes and home ideas that I liked.

I've been keeping magazine clippings for some time, but I need one place to organize them all. If I'm feeling up to getting out of the house tomorrow, I may head over to Staples and see what I can find to start making my own little book of clippings. I want to adapt some of these ideas to our house (particularly organization ideas, since storage space is lacking at our place).

I did laundry today. I started vacuuming, but that's not finished yet.

Lance is back from helping his friend move. I may need him to go around the house and pick up the little piles of mail that keep accumulating everywhere. I really should get a basket for that.

I'm feeling somewhat better today. My chest hurts a bit...I think I have a bit of congestion there, but I'm really hoping I don't develop a chest cold. Those are the worst. It's nasty outside (cold and windy), so I'm not bothering to go out.

I need to get some potatoes roasting in the oven here soon. I'm reheating the porkchops for tonight's dinner, and I want to make a dent in that 5 lbs. of potatoes that I have in the crisper. I took some mushrooms and baby tomatoes that were probably a couple days away from going bad, and I sauteed them with some olive oil, garlic and seasonings and splashed some balsamic over them when they were done. That's going to be my side dish for tonight with the potatoes. I think Lance will end up having peas.

It's only early October, but I'm starting to think ahead to Thanksgiving (I think part of reason for this was because I was clipping magazines from last year's holiday season). I want an honest-to-goodness celebration this year. That's something we could never really do in Germany, as Thanksgiving was still a work day for Lance, and we always ended up having dinner on the weekend, and I could never make everything that I was used to because the oven was smaller and I had to use a crockpot to cook the turkey (breast, not a whole turkey). I want to see if we can get together with some friends this year and have a nice, big feast.

I cut pages out of magazines and put them in ring binders. I take the clear page holders that have ring binder holes in them, those plastic protector things. And stick 4 or 5 magazine pages in each of them

That's pretty much what I figure on doing. And then getting some dividers in order to label stuff for organization, decorating, household cleaning tips, gardening, etc.
