The turkey breasts were perfection. One was more than enough for all of us. I packed up the leftovers from that one to send home with Rich and Kathy, and Lance and I will eat the smaller turkey breast, which I just finished shredding apart with my fingers.
Got a lot of compliments on the mashed potatoes. They really were fantastic. Who knew that such a simple recipe could have such amazing results. This will now be my official Thanksgiving mashed potato recipe.
We have tons of leftovers. We sent leftovers of almost everything home with our guests. I ran out of containers before I could get to the green bean casserole or the sweet potato casserole.
I have to say, I was not terribly fond of Shari's pumpkin pie. It was good. But it seemed under-baked to me. The pie filling was too soft. The crust looked barely done and crumbled apart easily under the slightest pressure from the knife as I was slicing it. I won't be getting their pumpkin pie again.
Anyway, I'm winding down. Have to work tomorrow. I'm enjoying a hard-earned glass of White Zin. Then I'll shower and probably be off to bed. I'm really tired.
I'm just so happy with how everything turned out. And Reece was pretty well behaved. All in all, it was a really nice day.
