I was finally able to get out. The snow has been packed down enough by the vehicles that managed to get through, that I was able to get out of the driveway without getting stuck. This bodes well for the commute tomorrow, although the road will be solid ice by then.
Anyway, it was too late in the afternoon to bother going to work. So I just finished up my Christmas shopping. I wish I hadn't. Everything started melting and the roads were slushy and sloppy and still pretty dangerous, particularly since people didn't feel like they had to be as cautious. I almost got sideswiped by some idiot who was flying down the road at a pace that was about three times faster than everyone else. He slammed on his brakes and splattered dirty snow and slush all over the passenger side of my car. Bastard. But I should be grateful that he didn't slip and slide right into me.
But at least everything is done for Christmas. I don't have any reason to go anywhere other than work until after Christmas.
Oh...and while I was at Fred Meyer, I found lefse. That made Lance happy. I got the last package. So he'll have his Christmas lefse and I no longer have to listen to his lamentations about how difficult it is to find here.
Right now, Lance is dozing on the La-Z-Boy and Reece is parked right next to him, wagging her tail and looking at him expectantly. After all, Daddy has spent a good deal of time today playing with her, and she's not yet satisfied. She's doing everything she can to try and rouse him, short of actually jumping into his lap.
