Good God, people...I have TWO QUARTS of ham and bean soup left over. TWO QUARTS.

That's ridiculous. I suppose I might have to freeze some of it. Chili freezes well, so why not?

It was pretty good. I think it needed more salt. I added some more, but it seemed to need something else. Couldn't quite figure out what.

Had a good mini baguette with it and some monterey jack cheese.

Got a lot more accomplished today than I had the energy to accomplish. A miracle. Bathed Reece. Got some cleaning done. Walked Reece (up a steep incline, I might add). Ran out to Target (clearance fleece jackets!) and then to the grocery store for bread and cheese. Laundry laundry laundry.

Spent most of the afternoon stretched out on the couch with Reece, wrapped up in a blanket, watching season 2 of The Tudors. It's my crack, I swear.

I keep thinking of habits I want to start this year. I want to have a girly date at least once a month with one or more of my girlfriends. I want to spend an occasional day with Kathy (either at my place or hers) making casseroles and soups for us to divide up and freeze for both our families (kind of like the soup swap idea). I want to read more. I want to write more.

Alas, there are only 24 hours in a day. I guess I'll be working on finding that balance so that I can do everything I want to do.

Maybe some herbage? Like some parsley or something? I don't know if you can get fresh herbs when it's been snowing for like a month there and since it's already done, it's too late for dried...

I would if I could be sure it wouldn't be entirely rancid by the time it got there.

It's ok...just a bit bland. The flavors might intensify after having a day or two to marry. That's what I'm hoping for, anyway.

Ham and bean soup does freeze quite well. I make lots of it every winter and use it for quick weekend lunches.
