I had an asthma attack last night. I think it scared Lance and Reece more than it scared me. Reece actually came over and stood on me to make sure I was ok, which certainly didn't help me breathe any better. She had her front paws on my chest and her head was right by my face.

I had to gasp out to Lance that I needed water, and he ran into the kitchen for it.

My inhaler was pretty much useless.

This is the 2nd asthma attack I've had within a week. The other one was at work, and wasn't quite as bad.

I think I need to schedule a doctor appointment for Friday afternoon, since I get off at noon. I need to get to the bottom of all this chest congestion and coughing I've had lately.

So anyway, I had a long night. I kept waking up because I couldn't breathe properly. Now I have to spend all day at work, when any sensible person would call off and get some rest.

But I can't. Because that would put me even further behind. There is too much to do. And it's not going to get done by itself. As with a lot of things in life these days, I just have to suck it up.

Is the current life-sucking stress what is triggering these bad boys? Also, are you on anything daily? My youngest son has asthma and we've got him on Pulmicort through a breathing machine and Singu.lair by mouth. Both of those are daily and they seem to help a lot with (1) preventing attacks and (2) stopping the general constant rattliness.

In my opinion, there is nothing worse than not being able to breathe. I hope the asthma clears up soon.
