May. 18th, 2009 02:25 pmOur new front door is now installed. It still needs to be painted yet, but we're painting it exactly the same color as the primer, so it looks no different now than it will after we paint it.
So here we have a front door that's boring, but still in good shape. And a beat-up screen door. Please ignore the reflection of the hideous pink house across the street.

Oh...but what's this awful crack in the door jamb?

A look at the curb appeal, so to speak.

And now...the after. Look at the picture in my icon. Notice that arched window? That's called an eyebrow window, and our new front door has one too. Also, we would like to paint the trim to match the trim on the rest of the house, but we're not sure the color can be matched exactly. It'll stay white for the time being. And obviously keeping the screen door would've been stupid, but we hope to get a new storm door at some point.
