Good Things
Jun. 10th, 2009 03:24 pmLance is home! His flight got in on time. I thought I would be late getting to the airport, because I stopped at the self-serve car wash on the way there and he texted me to tell me that he landed right as I pulled out of the parking lot (with still a ways to drive before I got there). But I beat him to the baggage claim in the end. I guess his plane taxied for awhile before it got to the gate.
So we got the luggage and got home without incident. I took Reece out back while Lance snuck in with his luggage. The thing is, she saw movement out of the corner of her eye, saw him coming in through the front of the house, and went completely insane. She was jumping up and down like a puppy on a pogo stick. Lance came out to see her and it took a considerable effort to get her calmed down.
After he got settled in and changed, we had lunch. Then we went to the park to play fetch with Reece.
It's been a quiet afternoon. I got a little cleaning done already. I'll have to get the outdoor stuff done tomorrow and get set up for the barbecue. There is a slight chance that we'll have some storms this evening, so I don't want to clean up the patio only to have to do it again tomorrow.
I just came back from Target, where my main mission was to grab a new pack of Hanes sports bras. I like the ones with spaghetti straps. I can wear them underneath my tank tops and camisoles all summer and they don't look like bra straps. The ones I have now are getting stretched out. Target didn't have any though, so I guess I'll have to look at the base exchange next time we go. Although looking at the Hanes website, it doesn't appear that they make them any longer. Damn. I don't know where to get something like that now.
I had a few other things I had to get there anyway, so mission accomplished in that regard.
And now...to relax for the rest of the day with Lance and the pup.
Oh...and for a little side note of squee...one of my very favorite former clients contacted me today to ask me if I do any art writing/editing. She was the one who invited me to the cocktail reception at the Museum of Glass in April. She thought we could collaborate on a project. So I'm going to see what, if anything, comes of that. I would love to continue working with her.
