The plans for Hocking Hills have been nixed today. Lance has a really important phone call at 10 this morning, and he wouldn't have had any cellphone reception in that area if we drove down there. So we're going to take a picnic lunch to one of the metro parks this afternoon instead. That's fine, because there are actually a few new metro parks that I haven't seen yet, and some older ones that I haven't been to in years. We just need to decide where we want to go.

I spent some time going through stuff in storage yesterday. I'm sending most of my books back that I left here and that my aunt had borrowed over the years...about 12 books in all. They all fit in one very large padded envelope. I had some other things too: scrapbooks from my study abroad trip, my bachelors degree, etc. Those are going back in my suitcase.

We sat out on the patio for awhile late yesterday afternoon with crackers, cheese and sausage and some wine. I looked over my scrapbooks. I can't believe it's been exactly 10 years since that trip...I arrived in England for the very first time on July 4, 1999. In some ways, it seems like just yesterday.

After awhile, we had a barbecue: steak, steamed broccoli from my parents' garden, pea salad, au gratin potatoes. Then a walk with Buck. Then strawberry cheesecake for dessert.

I've been having a good time. But at the same time, I am also looking forward to being home in 2 days. I really miss Reece.
