So we just returned from base a short while ago. Lance had to take care of various odds and ends while he was there, including a haircut, so I wandered into the exchange to browse while he was doing that.
The minute I walked in, they started playing "I'll Be There" by the Jackson 5. It made me feel a bit melancholy. I gradually made my way over to the books and noticed the display of Michael Jackson tribute magazines, so I picked one up and started leafing through it.
While I was doing that, Sarah McLachlan's "I Will Remember You" came on.
Uncanny timing. Weird.
Anyway, the weather is nice today. It finally feels like summer! Although since we lack air conditioning, it is also pretty warm in the house.
I may hang out and do the vacuuming once it cools off a little. I'll probably make spaghetti tonight so I have no need to turn on the oven.
It feels good to have a well stocked pantry and fridge again. And I have all the stuff for the picnic tomorrow...I just need to throw together the salad. I got the picnic tote out of storage and washed all the dishes and utensils, just to make sure they were clean. And I packed the tote with the stuff that doesn't require refrigeration.
I'm really looking forward to tomorrow.
Right now, I'm just trying to figure out how to spend the rest of the day. I suppose I should do something constructive. There is an interesting question on eNotes that I can answer about Elizabethan family life.
