Summertime, and the livin' is easy
Jul. 26th, 2009 06:19 pmLance and I spent the day grocery shopping and then working on clearing up clutter, hanging pictures, and getting things organized. We're almost done. Then all I need to do is a thorough cleaning and we'll be ready for his sister's arrival on Friday evening.
Today is the first day of our heat wave, but it's only supposed to get worse. It got up to about 86 today. The high inside the house was 83. I spent most of the day with no appetite, but I have consumed a large quantity of Crystal Light lemonade.
Lance made a pot of whole wheat spaghetti, which I just dressed simply with olive oil, some Mrs. Dash, garlic powder, fresh cracked pepper, parmesan cheese and sundried tomatoes. And I sliced up a tomato to eat on the side with mine (sprinkled with balsamic, salt and fresh pepper). He kind of expects that we won't be cooking a lot this week. Wednesday is supposed to be the worst - the high is supposed to be 99 degrees.
I'll have to get up early this week and get Reece out for her walks before the heat of the day settles in.
Yesterday, I took her to Petco for the first time for a nail trim. And then I saw their bulk biscuit bin. They had sandwich cookies! Peanut butter wafers with either strawberry or vanilla filling. She got a couple samples from employees there and she loved them, so I had to bag some up to take home. They look like human cookies. Ridiculous.
The dryer just beeped, so I guess I better go take care of it.
