It's so refreshing outside right now, but I know it won't stay that way for long. The sun's out now, so it'll start getting hot.

Right now, we have all the windows open and we're enjoying a little fresh, cool air. I don't think we managed to get it below 80 degrees in the house last night - it's 77 now - and I don't know about Lance, but I certainly had trouble sleeping. It was very uncomfortable.

Right now, I'm sitting on the couch with a latte, looking at my rose bushes. I thought one of them was dying. It bloomed profusely in early June and then everything shriveled up. The bush itself turned brown and got spots on it. I think it has a disease. Only my red rose bush was blooming. But this morning, a pink bloom appeared on the diseased bush, so maybe there's hope for it yet.

Pretty soon, I have to leave and take Reece to Petsmart for the day. I'll make a stop to pick up a few groceries on the way home. I think we need orange juice in case Lance's sister drinks it. I don't think she's a coffee or tea drinker (at least I've never seen her drink them) and those are the only options we have to drink with breakfast, except maybe Diet Pepsi, lemonade or ice tea. Hopefully it'll still be comfortable enough when I get back that I can take care of some yardwork that needs doing.

I need to squeeze in at least 1 hour of writing this morning before I meet Sigga for lunch. Then I'll do the rest from the air conditioned comfort of the library. I'll be hanging out at Valley View Library today, which is close to Petsmart, so I can pick up Reece at 5 and not have to go out of my way. Aside from writing, I need to do some research at the library too.

It doesn't look like this heatwave is going to end any time soon. It was supposed to be in the mid-'80s starting on Saturday, which isn't too bad, but the local weather forecasters changed that to mid-'90s. The National Weather Service is still saying upper-'80s, so I hope that's true. Because it's hard to do touristy stuff when it's so damn hot out. And our guest can't be comfortable if she's used to air conditioning and we don't have any.
