Kudos to my husband
Nov. 20th, 2009 09:03 amJust a couple days ago, my laptop was practically useless. It had a dead battery, so if the laptop accidentally came unplugged (and it very easily does, because the power cord isn't all one piece), it would automatically die.
Plus, I had Windows Vista. So it was crashing all the time. Internet Explorer was constantly freezing up. It was extremely difficult to get any work done. My computer wasn't functional.
Lance hijacked my laptop on Wednesday night. He installed a new battery (he ordered it from eBay) and installed Windows 7 on it. He also reinstalled Office 2007 and installed a new version of Norton Anti-Virus. It took all night, and I missed a night of schoolwork, but it was worth it.
My computer is completely functional now. I haven't had the issues with it that I had before. It's awesome. Although Windows 7 is different enough that it's taking some getting used to. But that's not a big deal.
So...thank you Lance, for finally giving me a laptop on which I can do some work. I don't have to worry about IE freezing up in the middle of my research. I don't have to worry about the computer crashing in the middle of an article. I'm so grateful to have a computer geek for a husband.
And on that note, I better get ready to start my writing for the day.
