Ah, Seattle, You Slay Me

The huge spring snow shower of doom that was supposed to continue through last night produced nary a snowflake.

How anti-climactic. Particularly after the big freakout they had on the news.

*sigh*

Just called the folks at my new job.

My background check hasn't been completed yet. It's slow for two reasons: 1> Easter weekend, and 2> my 4 years in Germany.

So...my new start date is April 7th.

They're supposed to call me sometime next week to keep me posted on how things are going.

They're frustrated. I'm frustrated. But nobody can control how long this takes.

So...one more week without pay. I kind of wish now that I had taken the temp job that was offered to me this week. But, you know, I had a pretty full agenda this week that included getting clothing for my new job. How was I to know that I would have all next week to do that?

Yes, it did finally snow. It just wasn't overnight as they said, and I encountered no major traffic disasters while I was out and about.

So...my day is posted here, for anyone who is interested. There are pictures. We made candles, had happy hour, ate a very delicious and beautiful looking pizza, and saw a dance troupe perform.

Not a bad day at all, considering I would usually just prefer to stay home and out of the yucky weather.

But now I have a very sore throat, so it seems I may be spending the weekend in bed anyway.

Guess it's good I'm not actually starting my new job on Monday now.
