I am on a computer that crashes about every 60 seconds, so it will truly be a miracle if I ever manage to post this. The other computer works fine, but is currently in use.

Anyway, there has been a new development today.

We are applying to adopt a dog. Lance sent me her pictures this morning. He is in love.

Her name is Lillie (also called Lillie Bug). She is a Border Collie/Lab mix...5 months old.

He just finished the application. If all goes well, we will be driving up to the shelter this weekend to see her and see if she's a good fit for our household.

I'm very excited. This might be the one thing that gets me through this week.

And now, I'll post this before this damn thing crashes again. I keep trying to pull up a slide show of Lillie, and it keeps crashing the computer.

Lance and I filled out the puppy adoption application together. I called him on my cell and we worked through it. It's been sent off. If they feel we are a good fit, they'll contact us within 12 hours. I don't see why there would be a problem.

Here's hoping. I'm just trying not to fall too in love with Lillie, in case we can't have her. It's already too late for Lance, I'm afraid. He's head over heels.

In other news, I have 2 full days of class left, the final exam, and then I can leave.

You have no idea how excited I am.

Last night, we went out for Cinco de Mayo. We asked about a good place for Mexican food and were directed to Mex, which is a trendy college bar/restaurant on the Upper Eastside of Rochester. The place was packed when we got there, and we waited over an hour for our table (in all fairness, we had a party of 9, and we didn't call ahead to reserve a table). No big deal...we had margaritas/Mexican beers/whatever in the downstairs bar while we waited. But we already got there much later than I had hoped to, so it was already after 9 by the time we got a table.

We ordered shortly after and then proceeded to wait NINETY MINUTES for our food. By then, the restaurant was mostly empty...I think they closed around 11 or so.

I wasn't even interested in eating by the time our food came. They replenished our chips and salsa, so I kept eating that, and couldn't eat my veggie quesadillas when they finally came. I just asked for a to-go box.

The manager gave us half off our bill and free drinks because of our wait.

So I have mixed feelings about this place. It was eclectic, and I dig that...the service, however, left a lot to be desired. We didn't get home until almost midnight. That's way too late for me, and I had to get up at 5:30 this morning. But I survived the day somehow. Copious amounts of caffeine helped.

This evening was much quieter. We got out of class a bit early. I decided to bake my Stouffer's lasagna for dinner, so while that was in the oven (about an hour), I took a nice nap. I woke up to the smell of bubbly, hot lasagna, ate my dinner while reading The Alchemist. I spent some time online. I went to Walmart. And that's been my evening. I need to review a bit for the quiz tomorrow, and then I am going to bed.
