Ah...sunshine. Temps in the 80's. Could life be more perfect? I got a sunburn on my lunch break today. Not the wisest thing to sit out in the sun sans sunblock, but I haven't exactly given sunscreen much thought lately.

That's no excuse, I know.

Anyway, my first week on the phones is over. Next week doesn't look too bad. The day after Memorial Day freaking TERRIFIES me, as it's 3x the number of calls I've been doing each day.

The only problem with this week is that I've encountered very weird and rare situations that most new payroll specialists shouldn't have to deal with. It would only happen to me.

Anyway, going to Bunco tonight. Lance is on his way home now...should be enroute to Denver, actually, where he'll layover before boarding his flight here. Bunco will probably be over before I have to go pick him up, and I certainly hope it is. I can't exactly leave in the middle of the game.

Got some Black Bean and Mango salsa to take, along with some whole wheat tortilla chips. Yum! I tasted a bit of the salsa last night after I mixed it together and it was freaking delicious.

(Recipe is on the kraftfoods.com website, for any interested.)

On the way home from work, I stopped at Starbucks. I wanted to get a gift card for the woman who has been fostering Reece, as a way to thank her for the good job she did in caring for Reece and for the way she fought for us to become Reece's adoptive parents. She is amazing and I can't possibly thank her enough for all she has done, but this is some small token of our appreciation, anyway.

Of course, I felt the need for an ice cold beverage and the barista talked me into a mint mocha frappuccino thing (their drink of the day)...it had chocolate whipped cream and all this artery-clogging goodness in it. Why I let her talk me into it, I don't know. But it hit the spot. Honestly though, I would've prefered a frozen lemonade. I just don't know where to get one around here.

Good thing we're getting a dog. She'll get me out of the house to exercise everyday, probably more than once.
