Home from work today. Probably without pay.

Waiting for the claims adjuster to call (I filed the claim online on Saturday and got confirmation to expect a call before noon).

After this is all over and done with, I will try my darndest to never again drive while distracted and exhausted. This is a very costly moment of stupidity.

At least the dog is happy. It means one less day in her crate (although I'll have to put her in later when I take my car to the body shop).

I had to call the insurance company myself. Nobody called me. They did, however, call Lance in California.

*boggle*

I told them to contact me at our home number when I filed that online claim.

Anyway, am going to the body shop this afternoon. A reservation has been made at Enterprise (my insurance covers it). And they will meet me at the body shop.

Let me just get this over with and move on with my life.

In other news, Puget Sound Energy can kiss my ass. They sent another notice that our power will be shut off for 6.5 hours on Wednesday. They just did this to us 2 weeks ago.

Bastards. I don't give a shit about system improvements. Leaving my power on IS an improvement.

Enterprise Rent a Car - oh, how I loathe you.

I suppose I can't complain. I mean, my insurance is paying the bill.

But they put me in a smelly, filthy old Chevy Cobalt. It was either that or a PT Cruiser. I chose the Cobalt because it was smaller and more fuel efficient.

But it's disgusting. It doesn't look like it's been vacuumed in a year.

And they said no pets in the car. HAHA. As if they'd notice. But I still rescheduled Reece's vet appointment.

I have this piece of shit jalopy for about a week.

I feel good about the collision center, on the other hand. Very professional. Starting work on my car immediately...but can only do the cosmetic work to start. They need to get the Mazda parts, which will take longer.

The repair estimate really made me want to cry, but it could be worse. I've been in a worse accident than this before, which was a total loss.

Still, I'm going to miss my car. It's so much cleaner and smells so much better. And everything is automatic, unlike this piece of crap.

Awwww...

This afternoon, whilst watching Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations," I dozed off.

I woke up when I felt something creeping up the couch toward me. Reece licked my face and then curled herself around me, laying her head on my chest.

Sometimes, it's awesome having a dog.
