If you see me logged into Yahoo Messenger in the middle of the night...I AM NOT ONLINE!!!

I have no idea what is happening, except that Yahoo appears to be on crack or something. I've now gotten several messages from friends, either trying to have conversations with me or asking me what I'm doing online at 1 in the morning.

I don't think anyone has hacked into my account. If that were the case, they'd have been in my email as well, and I think I would've figured out that fairly quickly.

And this doesn't just happen to me, apparently. It's happened to my SIL too and her mom. So I guess Yahoo just burps occasionally or something and logs people in when they are in bed sound asleep.

Now...if you get a message from me in the middle of the night, however, THAT IS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT STORY. It's probably not actually me, so you will have to let me know.

We are having a breakfast potluck at work on Friday, and I volunteered to bring in some sort of coffee cake. But since 1/4 of our group has lived in a German speaking country (Germany, Austria and Switzerland, respectively), it was decided by our tiny contingent that we will be hosting a German breakfast around the time Oktoberfest rolls around. We want to get some Schinken, delicious German cheeses (if I could find butter cheese, I would die of happiness), and some German breads and bring them in. There are some very good European deli/groceries around here, and a Bavarian meat market at Pike Place Market, so I think we should have no problem finding what we need. Plus, Sondra is going back to Switzerland this summer for a week, so she plans to bring back some stuff. She asked me if there was anything I particularly missed, but I will have to think carefully about what I want her to bring back for me, if anything.

Lance is going to have a day off on Friday...for no particular reason, except that he's been either away or putting in horribly long days and hasn't been home much. And I get off at noon on Friday. So I'm ecstatic that we'll have almost that entire day together. And it's going to be really beautiful this weekend, so we may blow off painting the living room and take Munchy to the beach instead.

Lance and I went out to Hollywood Video on Saturday night to rent a couple of films. His pick: The Onion, which is an entire movie based around the parody newspaper. It was ridiculous. There were some really funny moments in it, but they were more funny due to Reece's reactions to them (loud noises and such) than because the scenes themselves were actually funny.

I picked Underdog because the only movies Lance and I can usually agree on are those of the Disney persuasion. It was cute. I enjoyed it. But Lance and Reece both slept most of the way through it.

I think Underdog is one of those movies I would buy and leave at Grandma's house for the family to watch when they all get together.

Anyway, I think Lance wants to watch what he's missed, but I doubt he'll have time before I have to take the movies back.

In other news, it was nice not having to rush home during my lunch hour to let the dog out. Instead, I took a nice brisk walk for half an hour, than sat in the lunchroom and read a book for the last half hour while I nibbled on some of last night's leftovers (sausage, cheese and crackers).
