I already know that Lance is getting me a new over-the-stove microwave and dishwasher for Christmas, if our current ones don't go kaput by then. Of course, we are hoping they do, since they are under warranty for a year. It would be nice if we didn't have to pay to replace them. But knowing our luck, they won't, and thus will be replaced at the first opportunity. Both, after all, are 20 years old.

Our 5th wedding anniversary is coming up in October (less than 2 months away now, in fact), and we're planning a weekend in Victoria, BC...I'm hoping to extend that weekend by a day or two. But I'm now trying to convince Lance that I need a new camera. My current one, which has served me well, is 3.5 years old. The picture quality is gradually slipping. So I doubt it's in the budget, but that is really what I would like for our anniversary, so that I can take amazing pictures in Victoria.

My parents will be here in 2 weeks! YAY! They arrive late Wednesday night, so I don't think we'll be doing much. It'll be past 2 am Ohio time, so they'll want to go to bed probably as soon as we get back from the airport.

Thursday, however...I don't have a lot planned, but I have some things in mind. Lance will be working anyway, so we won't do anything major until Friday and Saturday.

I'm just dreading those 2 days after Labor Day. Those are probably going to be the 2 busiest days at work that I'll have since I've been there. I'm keeping a mental tally of the calls I have scheduled that day, and the amount is too massive for me to even think about, lest my brain hurt. But everyone else is on the same boat those two days, and somehow, we'll get through it. And then I have that Thursday and Friday off.

Today was interesting. While I was out on my lunchtime power walk, I was witness to an auto accident. I immediately stopped to see if I could help in any way, although I couldn't see how. But the drivers got out and everyone was on their cellphones and it didn't look serious, so I continued on my way. As I rounded the block past the fire station, a truck was dispatched...sure enough, on its way to the accident. By the time I got back around to where it took place, the cars were over in the parking lot of the building next to where I work and the police and fire department were there. I stopped a cop and asked if he needed a witness statement, but he said everything was good. Nobody was injured.

So yeah...most exciting lunch break ever.

It looked like someone ran a red light and t-boned a car going through the intersection. Completely stupid, but thankfully, just a minor accident.

That's really the only thing worth mentioning about my day. Work was boring. But I got a pretty significant project done this afternoon, which made me happy.

My laptop works so much better with Ubuntu on it. Seriously. Windows was TEH SUCK. My cursor doesn't jump around. My websites don't skip repeatedly. Awesome.

In other news, it looks like strep throat is going around at work. Yeehaw.
