And the world makes sense again...
Oct. 31st, 2008 05:50 pmJust had a very tasty pot roast with carrots and potatoes (the sauce was a can of Diet Pepsi, Lipton instant onion soup mix, just sprinkled on top of the roast, and 2 TBSP. brown sugar). Just took pumpkin bread out of the oven.
The kitchen has been scrubbed, swept, and sanitized.
Right now, Lance is trying to coax Reece into the bedroom, so he can stay with her and watch TV while I pass out candy. If we get any trick or treaters. And we better get some, because we have two giant bags of Skittles and Starburst. I don't want that much left over.
As soon as I have enough time, I'll upload the pics I took today. The batteries died on my camera. I need to remember to buy some more, since they're Lithium batteries.
I took the car to get an oil change earlier. I made an appointment online at the Firestone website, and they emailed me a confirmation of the appointment. But, of course, I showed up and they had absolutely no record of my appointment. But they weren't busy. So they took my car and I walked across the street to McDonald's to sit with a book and a latte. It's the first McD's latte I ever had. Surprisingly good, and cheaper than Starbucks. Though the atmosphere was decidedly less relaxing.
I'm reading Cassandra and Jane, by the way. I am really enjoying it.
After 45 minutes passed, I walked back to Firestone, since they told me that it would take 45 minutes to do the oil change. And I proceeded to wait almost another 45 minutes until it was done.
*sigh*
Afterwards, I picked up a prescription and some other sundries at Target, and then headed home to spend some time with the Kitchenaid mixer to whip up several loaves of pumpkin bread. I'll freeze some. I'll take some to Rich and Kathy's tomorrow night. And we'll eat some now.

This is our attempt to win a pizza party for our team, since the decorating contest was being judged. Not to be biased or anything, but we put the most effort into our decorations and they far surpassed any of the other teams in our office. We went all out. We spent hours. We started decorating a week ago and the other teams didn't even put anything up until yesterday.
There was also a best costume contest. I'm pretty sure I didn't win that. But I fully expect that the pizza party is ours.
