So...I got off at 2 to vote. It's unpaid time, but a small price to pay to perform my patriotic duty.

And now, it's barely 3, and I've voted.

It was a good time to go. I was worried that if I got off at 5, there would be huge lines. There was no line for me. I got right in. I was given the choice of paper or electronic voting (paper...ALWAYS paper). Ten to fifteen minutes later, I was out the door and on my merry way.

So now I have 2 extra hours to do with as I please.

And it's quiet. Lance is out mowing the lawn. Reece is in doggie daycamp. I am actually relaxing.

The election has been called.  

Our long (inter)national nightmare is almost over.  Let's usher in the era of change!!

Four years ago, I was crying tears of despair.  Now, I feel nothing but pure joy.

This is so surreal. I mean, four years ago, I heard Barack Obama give a speech at the Democratic National Convention, in support of John Kerry. I looked at Lance and said, "That man will be president someday."

Someday. Four years later.

Amazing. Unbelievable. Tonight, I have never loved my country more and have never been prouder to be an American.

And since McCain just gave his concession speech, it is really starting to sink in now.

Wow. I am stunned.

And yes, for those of you who are on Facebook, I did, literally, bootydance.
