It occurred to me kind of late last night that I forgot to check by the front door to see if my Mom's package had arrived.

And it had. My little Christmas tree that I've had for ages...finally mine again!

I put it on the coffee table in front of the fireplace. Mom didn't send the lights because they no longer work, but she still had everything else: the wee ornaments, the tiny star topper, the shiny iridescent bead garland. I need a mini tree skirt though. I used to have one.

I love my little tree. I had it with me when I lived alone in an apartment for the first time. It's still in great shape for as old as it is.

I need to go around and take pictures of our Christmas decorations. We didn't do any outside decorations, which kind of sucks because so many other houses in the neighborhood look so pretty. Our little section of neighborhood isn't decorated at all. Maybe next year. We still don't have a lot of lights...had to get rid of our German ones and bought some rather late last year, when there was a limited selection.

Oh...it's supposed to SNOW this weekend! I normally don't like snow, but Lance and I really have no plans anyway. And we want to see how Reece reacts to it. The snow is supposed to come in tomorrow evening, probably around the time I go pick up Lance at the airport.

I should've had some wine chilling in the fridge. But I didn't. And I was kicking myself when I got off work.

Yeah, it's been that kind of day.

But I stuck some wine in the freezer when I got home, and it was sufficiently chilled enough by the time I finished cooking dinner for myself that I could have a glass.

And I'll get in the shower here shortly and then enjoy another glass while watching The Nutcracker.

And I'll be grateful that tomorrow is Friday and that it looks like we'll be kind of snowed in this weekend with no particular agenda. They are talking about some nasty weather. And the things that I need to do don't require going very far.
