Lance took such good care of things yesterday, and such good care of me.

He had a snow day yesterday. And he knew I would have a rough go of things with the commute and such. While I was out, he washed, dried and folded linens. He unloaded the dishwasher, which I had started up before I left for work. And he cooked me a spaghetti dinner after I got home.

Traffic still doesn't look ideal this morning. The freeways are supposedly fine. It's the side roads, hills, bridges and on/off ramps that are considered problems. I'm tempted to take a snow day, but I can't really make a judgment on that until I see how things are for myself. Given the problems I had getting out of my own subdivision yesterday, if there is more of the same today, I may give up and call in. It's supposed to stay below freezing all day today, so there is no chance of things improving. But at the same time, we're not expecting any heavy precipitation either (just some scattered light snow showers), so things won't get any worse.

I'm so tired. I didn't sleep well last night at all. May have to stop for some sort of caffeinated beverage on the way in to work. We have a coffee shop in our office complex, but it was closed yesterday due to the weather. So I can't be sure it will be open today.

Because our interesting December storms haven't been interesting enough...

Tomorrow evening, we're expecting 4-8 inches of snow and winds up to 40 mph with 60-90 mph gusts.

So we need to go to McChord early tomorrow, get all our grocery shopping done. Clear the yard of any loose items that can blow away. Lots to do before this storm hits. And we need to try to light the fireplace again in case we lose power. Need some way to keep the house warm.

I'm hanging out in my pajamas, drinking some Captive Maiden (white wine, like a Gewurztraminer). It's been that kind of day. Absolute hell.

I have some baking to do this weekend. Secret Santa brought me gingerbread cookie mix today. And I have the muffin mix. And I was planning to make fudge.

Stopped at Starbucks this morning to pick up a Grande Eggnog Latte, since my lack of sleep last night required me to prop myself up with caffeine.

Saw these. And they were clearance priced. Picked up 3: one for me, and one each for Sigga and Teresa.

They look cute on our desks. I'm getting quite a menagerie, but as Kathy always tells me, I need talismans with me at work to help me stay calm and centered...things to remind me that I work to live...not live to work.
