Which will probably lead to horrible, evil flooding. But IT'S NOT SNOW!! :D

I've honestly never been happier to see rain in my life. And the snow is really melting. We have considerably less of it now, although we still can't see the grass yet. Maybe by the end of the day...

Lance, Reece and I had a long lie-in this morning. We didn't even get up until after 9. That was nice. And Reece still isn't done...she's now snoozing on the couch next to me. She's getting lazier. I don't like that, and I think it's our fault, because she's adapting to our lifestyle. And I don't like being lazy myself either. I'm just so exhausted all the time that I don't feel inclined toward anything else.

We plan to get her into agility training early next year. Lance wants to be her primary trainer, but I think we should both get a lot of practice with it.

I'm not sure we'll get out today. We have cleaning to do around the house. I need to clean the kitchen and bathrooms. Lance said he would do floors. Laundry is in progress.

Next week starts theme days at work. Monday is crazy hat day, so I'll probably take Lance's musical light-up hat to work. Tuesday is ugly holiday sweater day. I don't have one. Wednesday is pajama day. I might actually wear pajamas to work, although it seems weird to do so.

I don't have many more days left to start thinking about my goals for next year. I've kind of changed how I do resolutions in that I don't make huge, unattainable goals for myself that require major lifestyle changes. I set realistic expectations now...things I can feel really good about accomplishing that don't require huge amounts of time and effort.

I'll be back on the weight loss train in January. I've gained weight since I started my job because I sit down all day and I no longer have time for the gym. It's just a matter of being committed to walking more during my lunch breaks and exercising more with Reece. And dusting off those old exercise DVD's and doing those, even though Reece thinks I'm trying to play and attacks me whenever I try to do one. And her agility training is part of that too, because it's also exercise for us. And obviously I need to eat better. I did it two years ago, and I can do it again. There wasn't a lot of willpower involved, because I know I don't have much of that.

Oh, started a new book last night. Sandra Worth's The King's Daughter: A Novel of the First Tudor Queen. It's a fictional account of Elizabeth of York. Not far enough into it to be hooked yet, but it has promise.

Disc 2 of The Tudors is defective. Lance is going to have to send it back.

The ONE freaking gift that actually arrives on time...the one thing that was tops on my wish list (besides a new camera), and it doesn't even work! After I've already watched the first 3 episodes and was getting anxious to dive into more.

So now I'll have to wait for the period of time it takes to send it back and wait for a new one. Might as well order season 2 while I'm at it. That's released on DVD this Tuesday.

I'm going to be cutting back on frivolous spending next year as part of my goal to bulk up my savings account and IRA.

So...because it's still 2008 and I just got my first paycheck with my raise, I treated myself at amazon.com. (Only after I made a credit card payment and transferred funds into both my IRA and my savings.)

I'm waiting for a replacement copy of The Tudors, Season 1, but once I'm done watching that, I can follow it up with season 2.

And I got Sex & The City: The Movie. I just bought the full-screen edition...nothing special. I don't think I need all those special features.

I would like to start saving up for a better camera. The one I use now is almost 4 years old and the picture quality is getting worse. And considering that photography is so much an extension of my writing, I feel that a new camera is more than just a mere frivolity. I consider it a necessity. Especially as I have plans to expand my travel blog next year.

As written in my paper journal...

1> Incorporate more exercise and healthier food into my lifestyle.

2> Write in this journal daily, even if it's only one sentence.

3> Save more money and avoid having any credit card debt (pay it off every month).

4> Find more writers to network with; get some freelance work.

5> Get out and see more of the local area.

6> Send one handwritten letter per month to someone.

I think these are all pretty attainable goals. They are all within my power to do, anyway.
