Lovin' from the Oven
Feb. 2nd, 2009 07:08 pmI dusted off the old Kitchenaid mixer again. I really don't use it as often as I should.
Now I have some marbled carrot cake bars in the oven for tomorrow's potluck. Because there were mixed reviews (most reviews saying the bars were too bland), I added additional nutmeg and cinnamon, perhaps a smidge more vanilla, and some orange peel in the cream cheese mixture.
The cream cheese mixture tastes amazing. And I used one block of reduced fat cream cheese and one block of fat free. You can't even tell.
Ooooh...can't wait to see how these turn out!
Tomorrow's potluck theme is soup. But nobody was bringing dessert, so I volunteered for that. And I'm bringing crackers.
Anyway, not much else going on. I've had some stomach ick today, so I have been feeling bad all day. I just suck it up. If I called off work every time I felt bad, I would be home more often than not.
I have some cleaning I need to do. Best get on that.
