It's Monday morning, the start of a brand new month, and I don't have to go to an office this morning! Goodbye, miserable place! :D

Instead, Reece and I will drop Lance off at the airport. On the way home, I will stop at the Green River Trail and take her for a long walk. Then I'm going to come home, set up my laptop on the patio, grab a cold drink, and start going through all the freelance writing jobs that are posted today.

I also need to finish up what little I did of my last project and turn that in so I can get paid.

It's going to be a good day.

I'm working on losing weight starting today. I gained 10-15 pounds since I started at Paychex and I would like to get it off (along with the mental baggage of that place). Sometime this week, I need to go through my closet and weed out all my work clothes. I'll save some of them, of course, but not everything. Our closet is too small to keep all that stuff, especially since I'm not sure I'll need it down the road.

Anyway, I am sitting here eating a healthy breakfast of Grape Nuts and strawberries with skim milk. And I am ready to face the day. Welcome, June! This is probably my favorite month of the year (my birth month) and I want good things to happen.

Speaking of good things, I'm now on baby watch. My niece, Claire, is due tomorrow, and I await news from Guam. I think she'll come very close to her due date.

I loved this freelance writing ad.

Skim over the job description. Go toward the bottom.

Yeah...that's about right. And thus, I won't be applying. Because I'm the same way.

So...Lance's flight got horribly delayed, and he's stuck at the airport now, looking for another flight. I hope he figures something out.

We had Reece in the car with us when we dropped him off at the airport. Since the Green River Trail is on the way to and from, it just made more sense. So I started to take her for a walk. Wasn't a productive walk, because Lance was evidently feeling texty, so I had messages to reply to, and we had to stop every so often to let people gush over/love on Reece.

Then she threw up, so that was the end of our walk, pretty much. I had to turn immediately around and walk back to the car. But I still think we were out walking for an hour or so, so hopefully I got some kind of fitness benefit.

But now we're home and I need to do some work. It's gorgeous out. And I'm kind of hungry, so maybe an early lunch is also in order.

No play time at Kathy's today. She's not up for it. So it's just me and the pooch alone today. No biggie.

And...Lance just texted to say he got a flight. Whew.

I've had a busy afternoon.

- Applied for 4 freelancing gigs. Heard back from 1 of them already. I won't say anything else until I know more.

- Reece coaxed me outside for a little bit, but the bugs were getting to me. I have to say though, it's kind of cool having the option to work outside if I want. Yay for wireless internet! She got a bit tired of her sunbathing and wanted to come in, so she's now laying next to me on the couch, probably feeling a mixture of both sadness and boredom.

- Lance made it out of Seatac. He is now texting me from Denver. He'll get in to OKC later tonight than he wanted to, but at least he'll get there.

- I got a coupon in the mail today for free hotdogs! Woot! I don't eat them often, but I certainly won't turn them down when they're free (Oscar Mayer, by the way...Kraft sent me the coupon). I just need to get some sauerkraut...that's how I love them, with sauerkraut and mustard (that's also how I eat my bratwurst now...not before I lived in Germany, but now). Soooooo good. I have to pick up some milk tomorrow anyway...maybe I'll cash in my coupon too. I'm basically going to be scrounging while Lance is gone...all the stuff we have for meals around here makes dinner for 4 people. I don't really have stuff to throw together dinners for one. So...hotdogs.

- Got text messages from a former co-worker today. He wanted to see how things were going, and to tell me that I'm missed at the office (probably by my co-workers...I doubt I'm missed by the management. They moved on before I even left). Oh man, I do not miss that place! I just need to get all that payroll crap out of my head though, so I have room for other things. More interesting and important things.
