This? Is awesome.

Best laugh I had all day.

(And no, I am not making fun of Michael Jackson's death. I was a fan back during his heyday. I just think this is hilarious.)

I gakked this from [livejournal.com profile] ohnotheydidnt.

I started my new job today. I had to spend a good chunk of time reading the training materials and watching the training videos, but I already completed the first article and submitted it for review. I'm waiting for the feedback on that. I'll log in later, fix up anything the editor suggests, and then put it live on their website. Then I'll start on the next article. I have 4 in the queue after this one is approved.

Reece has been a bit difficult to deal with today. She keeps growling or barking at any little noise, which has made it a bit difficult to concentrate.

I need to review The Taming of the Shrew before I go to see it at Volunteer Park on Sunday night. I'm planning the picnic right now and just sent suggestions to Lisa. I'll bring a main dish salad (tuna & white bean sounds good to me, but will do a pasta salad if it doesn't appeal to her), cheese, and a dessert if she provides fruit or fruit salad, bread or crackers, and a beverage.

Need to make a shopping list. The fridge is pretty bare. The pantry isn't much better.

Reece and I were on a walk a short time ago. It's pretty out. Not too warm and not chilly (finally!), although still dry. Now I need to focus my attention on what to do for dinner. I need to do some dusting and cleaning this evening too.

I'm going to see if I can get Kathy out of the house on the 25th to go to this:

I think it will inspire our creativity. I have a pretty amazing idea for a decoupage project, since she wants to start doing decoupage with me. I'm anxious to get started.

Whoa, jetlag. I'm already tired and want to go to bed, and it's barely past 7. I figure my body is on Central time or thereabouts right now. They say one day for every hour in time difference, although I never really found that to be the case before.

I took Reece for a walk earlier and then Lance took her for a jog an hour later, so she's now collapsed on the floor. I'm glad. She was a bit too restless last night from lack of exercise. She's thoroughly worn out now.

No more work for me today. I was going to do a bit more, but I'll have some to do over the weekend anyway, so I'll just put in a little extra time this weekend. And that's just for the one job. I still have to do some work for the real estate website and write up information about some more neighborhoods for them.

Lance's sister just informed us today that she'll be arriving here on July 31st. We were expecting both his mom and sister, but Mom J broke her shoulder a couple weeks ago, so she doesn't want to travel right now. I can understand that. So SIL is coming alone. She'll be here for 3 full days, and there is plenty we can do. She definitely wants to go downtown, and that's a whole day. Lance wanted to take her to Mt. Rainier. She will probably also want to see the Museum of Flight, and Lance suggested the Woodinville wineries, but since Seafair is going on that weekend and they are having an air show, I think she would rather do that. There will be no lacking for things to do, anyway. We just need to figure that out and get the guest room sorted out. We have a little bit of time, at least.

My life feels so busy all of a sudden. But I guess it's busy in a good way.

I'm considering doing the Special K diet for about 2 weeks or so to jumpstart my weight loss. I need to take off 10-15 pounds, to get off what crept on while I worked at Paychex and whatever I gained while in Ohio (lots of eating out and boozing, yo!).

So...has anyone tried it? Good results? Bad results? How did it go for you?

It's relatively easy for me to eat cereal for 2 meals per day and supplement with their protein bars/shakes/whatever. I realize this isn't a permanent solution, nor do I want it to be, because I do love food and all. But it might just help me get started, anyway.

I need to approach this a bit differently than the weight loss from 2 years ago. For starters, I don't have access to a gym anymore...can't afford a membership, so no spin class for me. So walking will probably be my primary form of exercise, which means it will be harder to get the weight off this time.
