Today started out well enough. I got up around 7 or so. By 8:00, I already walked Reece and was making my breakfast. It was already in the '70s by that point.

I applied for some writing jobs, browsed the Internet, worked for 3.5 hours, and worked on a new trick with Reece...not necessarily in that order. I also started reading a new book. I finished William Zinsser's Writing Places last night, and need to write up a review on that today. I'll do that this evening when Lance is at the gym.

It's 85 degrees in the house. It's 91 outside, and that's not even the high temperature for today. Our thermometer peaked at 92, but Lance said that the one in his truck read 96 when he pulled into our driveway.

It's miserably hot, and all my motivation is gone. I just want to laze around and drink cold drinks and eat cold food. As much as I hate air conditioning, I am longing for it now.

Most of this week will likely be a repeat of today, except with cleaning included, because the house needs to be ready for Lance's sister by Friday night. I just don't feel like moving.

Ugh

It's supposed to be over 100 degrees on Wednesday.

Reece has reservations for doggie daycamp. I feel that she should be somewhere air conditioned, since she doesn't have the benefit of being sans fur.

I will probably be spending most of that day at the library. Sigga and I have a lunch date scheduled, so I'll definitely make that too, but I think it's also important for us less furry folks to be somewhere cool as well. So I'll pack up the laptop and go. I suspect it'll be busy. Maybe I'll hang out at a different library, so I can be closer to Paychex (for meeting Sigga) and Petsmart. I'll try and figure that out.

We're now in the process of trying to cool down the house. 85 degrees inside at the moment. I just went out and watered the plants. The backyard plants, anyway.

Reece learned a new trick today and I think she wants to practice it. She's getting quite good.
