Lisa and I got together today to visit Elliott Bay Book Company one last time in their current historic location in Pioneer Square before they pack up and relocate to Capitol Hill. The new location will actually be closer to where Lisa lives, but it just won't be the same. Part of the attraction of this bookstore is its location. It's a Seattle landmark.
Before we stopped there, we had brunch at Macrina Bakery & Cafe in Belltown.
Brunch...oh my God:
Salmon Scramble
Eggs softly scrambled and served on an onion bialy with Gerard & Dominique cold-smoked salmon and chive crème fraiche. Served with herb roasted potatoes and Organic Green Salad.
(Cut and pasted directly from their website menu.)
Mine was sans potatoes, and I'm not really sure why. Perhaps they ran out. *shrug* But what I had was quite filling enough and it was amazingly delicious.
The cafe was very crowded when we got there, and now I know why. We were on a waiting list to get in, but thankfully, they seated people quickly.
It was a perfect Sunday afternoon. :) At least for a winter day in Seattle. It was a bit overcast and chilly and dreary today, but it was so nice to get out.
Now I'm back home, settled in for the evening, and getting ready to watch the Grammy Awards at 8. I even have my 3D glasses ready for the Michael Jackson tribute.
